Eligibility & Requirements

Eligibility Criteria

  • 10+2 passed (any stream)
  • Minimum 50% aggregate marks
  • 45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates
  • Min. age 17 years by July 1, 2026

Required Documents

  • 10th & 12th marksheets
  • Transfer/migration certificate
  • 4 passport-size photographs
  • Government photo ID
  • Category certificate if applicable

Portfolio Guidance

  • 10–15 samples of original work
  • Sketches, digital art, photography
  • PDF preferred, max 15 MB
  • Optional if applying via IID DAT

For students with exceptional academic scores in 10+2 or IID DAT. Renewable annually.

Need-Based Aid

For students from economically weaker backgrounds, assessed on family income documentation.

The process has 6 steps: online application → counselling session → portfolio/IID DAT → admission confirmation → fee submission → welcome orientation. Applications are submitted at iid.edu.in/apply.

Yes. IID conducts its own Design Aptitude Test (IID DAT) which tests creative thinking, spatial reasoning, and design awareness. Students with valid UCEED, NID DAT, or NIFT scores can also apply directly.

The final application deadline is 30 June 2026. Early applicants receive priority counselling, scholarship consideration, and choice of elective seats.

A portfolio is optional but strongly recommended. It can include sketches, photographs, digital art, or any creative work. Students via the IID DAT route may submit their portfolio after the test.

Yes. IID has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls on and near campus. Hostel fees range from ₹45,000–₹65,000 per year depending on the room type.

IID offers merit-based scholarships (up to 50%), need-based financial aid (up to 40%), and EMI/education loan facilitation. Scholarship applications are reviewed alongside the admission form.

IID graduates work at top fashion houses, interior design studios, branding agencies, architecture firms, and digital media companies globally. The placement rate stands at a consistent 98%.
